Terminal Exhibitions started in 2018 by the exhibition maker Annabelle von Girsewald together with the artist and architect Borghildur Indriðadóttir. It is conceived as an exchange of artists and scientists practicing and or studying in Reykjavík or in other cities. The series deals with our contemporary condition of being in a terminal state of transit, an inbetween state of waiting to leave and arrive. Airport terminals and aesthetics become a program in effect.
Terminal Exhibitions respects the geopolitical histories manifested in the landscape of each
location making it the subject of investigation.
For 2020 Terminal Exhibitions goes to Iceland, one of the most active volcanic regions on Earth.
